WHO ARE THE GOATS?

Gamers Of Astounding Talent

Originally formed at the beginning of 2023, the GOATS are an esports & gaming club that aims to bring people together with a shared love for video games. Our goal is to raise awareness for grassroots esports and to build connections within the community through gaming across Conwy, Gwynedd, Anglesey and across Denbighshire.

Previously, our teams have competed in several game titles, including in Esports Wales' prestigious Welsh Esports League (see past and current tournament results here). Our mission extends beyond winning tournaments however, as we are dedicated to fostering a community with similar passions and interests, creating inclusive and supportive environments where enthusiasts of all backgrounds can come together.

Whether you're already a dedicated player, an avid esports fan, someone who likes the thrill of competition, or even completely new to the world of esports, we invite you to join us on our adventure. Together, we will continue to push boundaries, leaving our mark on the esports landscape and inspiring the next generation of esports across North Wales.

JESS ROUGHTON (R0GUE)

With a background as a video games development and computing lecturer, Jess combines academic knowledge and creative skills to drive innovation in every project she undertakes. Jess proudly competed for Wales in the Commonwealth Esports Championships in 2022, showcasing her gaming prowess. This competition deepened her appreciation for the world of esports and the sense of community, significance and camaraderie that it brings.

As CEO, Jess now strives to spread this sense of camaraderie and love for esports by bringing her local community together through a shared passion for video games.

GARETH SWANN (SWANNY)

Swanny has navigated the dynamic landscapes of the games industry and beyond, crafting ingenious brand strategies and unforgettable digital campaigns for giants like Xbox, PlayStation, Samsung, and Adidas. His superpower? Turning complex event logistics into seamless productions. From managing budgets and logistics to coordinating agencies, Swanny's projects sparkle with success.

Adding another feather to his cap, Swanny has taken on the role of Chief Marketing Officer for the GOATS.

CIAN ROBERTS (CIANCLINC)

Cian is a presenter at Clinc TV which operates from Cell B, a music and events space in Blaenau Ffestiniog, North Wales. Cell B's mission is to provide activities in music, broadcasting, events and esports, creating opportunities for young people to learn, earn and train, to build better communities and increase their prospects.
